Excellent point, DemocracyRules.

I am intrigued with the formation-flying configuration of the miniature flying devices. Equipped with sound-receiving, or hearing, capability such a configuration should enable them to pinpoint the sound(s) of gunshots or explosions and accurately report such information to our troops for tactical response. Enemy sniper positions may be subject to compromise by this technology, a great life saver.

Yes! Ubiquitous and minimal-detectable damage assessment devices, sounds boring, but it would produce a massive leap in defense tech. Imagine the benefits that would occur if the phrase, "fire for effect" was supported by actual, instant damage assessment of the target, as the bombardment unfolded.

Bombardments would be much more effective, safer for civilians, and safer for soldiers.

A drone like that could be used to reconnoiter and investigate hidden North Korean artillery emplacements. That would be extremely useful, because the main threat that the Norks pose right now is their artillery aimed at Seoul, in South Korea.
